St. Louis

I traveled to St. Louis from March 8-12, 2023 to attend the annual conference of the Association of Health Care Journalists. Although I didn’t have a great deal of time for sightseeing, I did have time on the day I arrived to walk from my hotel, at Union Station, to Gateway Arch National Park. The arch is just over a mile from the hotel, so a nice two-mile walk.

At 650 feet tall, the Gateway Arch is the tallest monument in the U.S.
Looking to the west, through the Arch, which frames the St. Louis skyline.
The Gateway Arch is quite impressive.

There is quite a lot to see and do around Union Station including a nice light show each night on the ceiling of the Grand Hall.

The Beatles are featured on the ceiling.

Here are a few attractions that were just outside my room:

Here are some photos of the midway at the hotel.

There is a lot of event space at Union Station.

I just happened to catch a bit of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade that goes down Market Street, passing right by the hotel’s main entrance.

I enjoyed eating at Landry’s Seafood House, The Train Shed and The Station Grille.

I hope to go back sometime on vacation.
